Currently in Beta and serving trips to France and India, they have plans to expand the website to serve more European destinations soon.
I mentioned there was an app called Tripit, that allows you to keep your itineraries organized, which is great, but I want an all in one. Something that will make my travel planning go more smoothly and take up less of my time.
Wandership let's you search destinations and also gives you suggestions on others you might find interesting. One of the developers, Akshay, lived in France for 4 years and has first hand experience of all of the places recommended.
You're probably asking me, why should I use Wandership? I can already use Expedia, Kayak, Priceline, Hotwire and all those others pushing cheap travel on our tv's.
I think Wandership isn't about the cheapest travel deal. Wandership is about helping people create an experience and helping them to do it simply, but they don't completely discount that idea that people will be looking for deals either. Those other websites are hustlers. They push the cheapest travel and they do it pretty aggressively. They don't take into account the people booking the trips, they just want those rooms sold and if there's something wrong with it, screw you. They can be great tools, but that's not what I'm looking for.
Overall, I see a lot of great potential for Wandership if they grow to include other partners for lodging and transportation options. The usability of the site if great. The ability to personalize and customize trips is what will keep people, but I think to attract them, you also have to be competitive on the pricing forefront, and that can be accomplished by including the low cost options as well.
Until next time,
Lulu
